Suggestions for Pack Leaders:

1.  Don’t wait until your next Committee meeting or Pack meeting to discuss this event.  Call or visit your Tiger Leaders, Den Leaders, and Webelos Leaders, and tell them this is the Premier Cub Scout Family Event of the Fall and we need to go!

2.  Contact the boys and families immediately. Most dens meet weekly, and typically Den Leaders will see parents before or after the den meeting. If not, a few phone calls from the Den Leader to the parents will guarantee the boys get the chance to participate in this fun filled day.

3. Be forthcoming about the paid-in-full registration deadline!  Everyone must register through their Pack.  Everyone responds to expectations, and parents and leaders certainly understand that an event of this size requires deadlines to be successful.

4. Create your own paid-in-full deadline so your Pack can make the October 10th deadline, because only the first 1,200 will be accepted.

5. Don’t say no for your boys. The Cub Scouts love this event…the leaders and parents do too. Pack participation in a “big event” like this adds so much to your Pack program. Parents are a little more likely to join your committee or “help out when asked” after they’ve seen Cub Scouting on a big scale.

6.  Anticipate payment difficulties. Perhaps your Pack treasury can assist families who may have difficulty making your deadline. Make sure all leaders have accurate information about this subject before they begin contacting families.

7. One check payable to the Green Mountain Council is best.  Also one copy of the reservation and roster form per unit.  Get it in early – beat the deadline!
