Three Districts and the Council Earn National Award
Each year the National Council has a mid-year review on how Scouting is doing in local Councils and Districts. That review is called the Winners’ Circle. To qualify for the Winners’ Circle a Council or District must do the following:
Winners’ Circle - Requirements:
- 1% increase in Traditional Membership (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts & Venturing)
- Increase in Traditional Units
- As compared to June 30, 2007
It is with great Pride that I announce the following Districts have achieved the Winners’ Circle:
- Land of Champs District
- Ethan Allen District
- Long Trail District
Due to everyone’s hard work and the effort of many volunteers and professionals, the Green Mountain Council is also in the Winners’ Circle.
Additionally, one other distinction is available to Districts and the Council. It is called the Above & Beyond recognition. To qualify for the Above & Beyond recognition you must to the following:
Above & Beyond – Requirements:
- 3% increase in Traditional Membership
- Increase in Traditional Units
- As compared to June 30, 2007
It is with great Pride that I announce the following Districts have achieved the Above & Beyond recognition:
- Ethan Allen District
- Long Trail District
These are great accomplishments for everyone and set us up for our main Fall Membership push. Thank you to everyone for working so hard to provide the quality program to the over 10,000 youth and adults of the Green Mountain Council.
