Pack 714 invites boys in the 1st through 5th grades to join in the Cub Scouting Experience. Boys 6th grade and up can join the Boy Scout Troop 714. Boys can join at any time during the year. We encourage parents to help out in any way they can, from being a Volunteer Den Leader, Committee Member, or just helping out on a specific project, event, or meeting.
Cub Scout Pack 714 is located in Barre, VT. We are part of the Green Mountain Council BSA, Long Trail District. Pack meetings are held at our charter organization, Hedding Methodist Church, located on the corner of Washington and Church street in downtown Barre City. Pack meetings take place the second thursday of every month from 6:30 till 7:30 PM.
Activities are based on an age appropriate level of involvement and include physical fitness, community awareness, character development, and of course FUN. The Pack participates in many events throughout the year including Cub Scout Camp, a week long camping activity, overnight camping events, day trips, and parades. Scout competitions include the Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Reggatta, and Space Derby.
Pack 714 is taking place in a national pilot program toward advancement and scout retention this year. The program places more emphasis on advancement at the Den Meetings with the goal to advance 100% of the scouts by February's Pack Meeting.
